For many years I was the Finance Officer of a local charity before qualifying as a Counsellor at Leicester University in 2008. After qualifying I undertook further training with RELATE in working with couples and until recently was a registered, accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I was a volunteer counsellor at the Leicester Counselling Centre for 5 years and prior to that worked with women survivors of childhood sexual abuse with the Quetzal Project in Leicester. I have also been employed by the NHS as an accredited Stop Smoking Advisor.
I am accredited by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and verified by The Reiki Association. My interest in Reiki goes back to 2000 when I was first taught the First Level in order to use it as a means of helping a relative who was suffering from work related stress, anxiety and depression. Since then I have become increasingly passionate about this natural healing process which helps to bring balance and wellbeing into our lives and by doing so enhances our own ability to heal. Until recently I was a volunteer at the Loughborough Cancer Self Help Group where the members greatly value their weekly Reiki sessions.
I received my Master Level attunement in 2012 and am committed to spreading the word as to how this wonderful, healing energy is available to all of us.
